Underwater adventure with Marine Biologist: Deep sea

Thu, August 20, 2020 (5:00 pm - 6:00 pm)

Since our planet is covered in 70% by the ocean, the deep sea is one of the biggest habitats on Earth. Surprisingly, we know very little about it. Let’s explore together the darkest part of our plant and see what animals live there and how they cope with this unique environment. We will also have a closer look at the hydrothermal vents and bioluminescence.

Please bring to the class a sheet of paper and pencil or pen

Hi, my name is Daria and I'm a Marine biology and Oceanography student based in the UK. I was always fascinated by the ocean since I grew up on the coast of the Baltic Sea. I'm passionate about communicating science and teaching. I work as a maths tutor and activity leader what thought me how to combine fun and education. Together we can explore distant corners of the ocean. We will have a closer look at the mesmerising creatures and surprising processes which rule the underwater world.
